Last Friday we had a sign language class with people from Deaf Aotearoa New Zealand. We enjoyed learning how to say hello, goodbye, thank you, and our name in sign language. Here is a photo of us learning.
Welcome to Room 6’s class blog! In our class there are 24 amazing Year 3 and 4 children who love learning! We hope that you stay a while and read about what we have been doing. Feel free to comment. We would love to hear from you.

Air Force Museum
Last Wednesday we went to the Air Force Museum because this term we are learning about flight. When we arrived we met Chris. He taught us about the history of flight, the parts of an aeroplane, and the science of flying. We learnt four important words which were weight, lift, drag, and thrust. We really enjoyed our trip.

Reading in Room 6
In reading we are learning to use word attack strategies to help us when we are stuck on a word. The word attack strategies we practised today were re-reading, reading on, and looking at the picture to give us a clue. When we were unsure of the word bushline we read on and found out that it was an imaginary line at the top of the trees. We also used the pictures in the story to help us.
