Queen's Birthday Assembly
On Friday our class ran school assembly. Our theme was the Queen and the royal family! We have been learning about the Queen and her family:
- Queen Elizabeth II has been the Queen since the 6th of February 1952.
- Queen Elizabeth II was born on the 21st of April 1926. She is 87 years old.
- The Queen has 3 sons
and one daughter. The Queen is married to Prince Philip.
- For
over 100 years the birthday of the reigning King or Queen has been celebrated
in June each year in both Britain and New Zealand.
- The Queen is the head of state of New
Zealand. New Zealand’s Governor-General carries out different duties on behalf
of the Queen.
